Cross Lanes Baptist Church hosted a Thirst Revival Conference with Life Action Ministries.
Life Action’s Promise To The Church:
“What we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5
Promote the Lord Jesus Christ, not Life Action Ministries; Serve and support your church; Focus on people, not numbers; Not attempt to manipulate, or manufacture revival; Conduct substantive, biblical services; Seek what God can do, not what man can produce; Seek long-term change, not immediate results; Cultivate an environment for obedience, not pressure people through extended invitation; Focus more on inward change than outward response; Believe God with you for genuine revival
Goals of the Thirst Conference:
Prayerfully, we will seek God together. Truth and hope will be proclaimed. Lives will be transformed. Families will be strengthened. The church will experience spiritual renewal and increased passion for the Great Commission.
The week included Worship for all ages, Bible Study for Adults. AWAKE for Students, Base Camp for older children, and Happy Heart City for younger children, as well as a Ladies’ Luncheon.
The sessions focused on John 4, Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan Woman.
Session 1 Living Water- Thirst is a passionate desire, craving, or longing. God created you with a spiritual thirst only He can satisfy. Revival within an individual or community is evident when the people of God has been saturated with the presence of God, which produces extraordinary results from God! (Psalm 63:1)
Session 2 Substitutions- Remember that good things can become passions that slowly consume our hearts and minds. When this happens, unknowingly, idolatry has been conceived! Idolatry is anything we value more than God. (Exodus 20:3-4)
Session 3 Filled- Who are you filled with? We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit. He is God, our Helper, and dwells in the life of every believer. (John 14:16-17; Ephesians 5:15-18)
Session 4 Poured Out- Loving others is an overflow of God’s love in our own lives. (I John 4:7-8; 19)
Session 5 The Reservoir of Grace- God satisfies, sanctifies, and sustains. (2 Corinthians 9:8).
The Goal- Changed lives and advancing the Great Commission!
I was blessed by everyone who saw the need to set this time aside for the Lord, to seek Him. I have always heard it said, that you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. I would go a step further here. You can show the horse where the water is, but he has to be willing to go to it, and drink when he gets there. Meaning that, a person has to thirst after God, and be compelled by the Holy Spirit to do so. Many of you reflected this kind of thirst in the conference. God always blesses surrender.
Thank you to everyone who served and gave to make this event possible. Many of you opened your homes, shared your vehicles, assisted with feeding the team, and gave generously. Know that you are greatly appreciated it.
The question is, what now? What will we do with the time of refreshing we experienced? True revival always results in obedience. Pray with me that we will experience the grace and power of God as a church in a fresh way in the days to come, for His glory.
