Dr. Seth Nathan Polk

A native of Florida, I grew up on a citrus and cattle farm in the rural community of Bereah. I came to know Jesus Christ and was baptized in believer’s baptism at the age of seven. I later answered the call to ministry at First Baptist Church of Frostproof, Florida.

The Bible is the Word of God and is sufficient for everything pertaining to life and godliness. The further I go in the Christian life, the more meaningful 1 Timothy 1:15-17 is to me.  “This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—and I am the worst of them. But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate his extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” I am grateful for and dependent on the grace and mercy of God. Additionally, having served for more than twenty-five years as a pastor, I believe more strongly in the shepherding model of ministry than ever before (1 Peter 5:1-6).

I am passionate about proclaiming the glory of God and sharing the good news about Jesus down the street and around the world. Kingdom multiplication through disciple making and church planting is essential to the mission of God. I have been blessed to serve on mission extensively both in the United States and internationally, and have engaged in short-term missions in ten states and twenty nations. I served as a Trustee of the International Mission Board (2013-2021), and as Chairman for two years.

My wife is Emilee and we have been married since 1992. Our son is in graduate school, one of our daughters is a senior in college, and our other daughter is a sophomore in college. We are also blessed with an unofficially adopted daughter in Moldova in Eastern Europe, who came into our lives as an adolescent. She is married and has a family.
