A native of Frostproof, Florida, I grew up on a citrus and cattle farm in the rural community of Bereah. Emilee is my wife. She is a teacher at Hurricane High School and is the Special Education Department Director. We are blessed with four children. Nathan is a junior at The University of Alabama. He also serves as the Executive Pastor of Next Level Church in Tuscaloosa, a new multicultural church plant in the city. Sophia is a sophomore at West Virginia State University, and Grace is a senior in high school. Tatiana is our (unofficially) adopted adult daughter, who came into our lives by the grace of God when she was a young teenager. She lives in Moldova in Eastern Europe with her husband and they have a baby boy. I enjoy spending time with my family, sports, most things related to the outdoors, and the quieter and more remote the better.
I came to know Jesus as a child, and later answered the call of ministry at First Baptist Church of Frostproof, Florida. I am grateful for, and dependent on the grace and mercy of God. I believe strongly in the shepherding model of ministry (1 Peter 5:1-6). I am passionate about proclaiming the glory of God, and sharing the good news about Jesus down the street and around the world. I’ve been blessed to serve on mission extensively both in the United States and internationally, and I have engaged in short-term missions on fifty projects in ten states and twenty nations. I believe the Bible is the Word of God, and is sufficient for everything pertaining to life and godliness.
