Lead Pastor, Cross Lanes Baptist Church, West Virginia

A native of Frostproof, Florida I grew up on a citrus and cattle farm in the rural community of Bereah, in Central Florida. Emilee is my wife. She serves in our church, and is a teacher vocationally. We are blessed with four children. Our son is a student at the University of Alabama and serves as the Executive Pastor with a multi-ethnic church plant in the city, and two of our daughters are students at West Virginia State University. We have an unofficially adopted adult daughter, who came into our lives by the grace of God as an adolescent. She lives in Eastern Europe, and is married and has a son.

I came to know Jesus as a child, and later answered the call of ministry at First Baptist Church of Frostproof, Florida. I am grateful for and dependent on the grace and mercy of God. I believe strongly in the shepherding model of ministry (1 Peter 5:1-6). I am passionate about proclaiming the glory of God and sharing the good news about Jesus down the street and around the world. I’ve been blessed to serve on mission extensively both in the United States and internationally, and I have engaged in short-term missions in ten states and twenty nations. I believe the Bible is the Word of God and is sufficient for everything pertaining to life and godliness.
