New In Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Another year has come to a close and we have embarked on a new year of opportunities. God is the God of new beginnings! Initially, when we place our faith in Christ we are a new creation. Throughout the Christian life, we continue to grow in newness as we are transformed into the likeness of Christ. This should affect every part of us, how we relate to ourselves, to God, and to others.

Oswald Chambers wrote: “There are three facts of our personal life that are restored by Jesus Christ to their pristine vigour. We get into real definite communion with God through Jesus Christ; we get to right relationship with our fellow-men and with the world outside; and we get into a right relationship with ourselves. We become Christ-centered instead of self-centered.” (The Shadow of an Agony, 1168 R)

In the New Year my prayer for those of us who are Christ followers is that we would desire and pursue a right relationship with God and right relationships with others!

Remember- “Life is short; none of us knows how long we have. Live each day as if it were your last – for someday it will be.” Billy Graham
