Psalm 33:4: “For the word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does.”

Psalm 119:89-90 “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations.”

Hebrews 10:23: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”

As we enter the New Year of 2025, I am resting in and rejoicing in the faithfulness of God. The word faithful means trustworthy. The faithfulness of God is anchored in the character of God, is communicated through the Word of God, and is demonstrated in the actions of God.

How do I know of the faithfulness of God? I have read of the faithfulness of God in His Word. I have heard testimony after testimony of God’s faithfulness in the lives of His people. I have experienced the faithfulness of God in my own life. Even when I do not understand how His will is unfolding, I know this. God is faithful and He can be trusted.

Father God, thank you for your faithfulness. In this new year, help me to grow in my faith and trust in you. When I am discouraged, remind me of what you have done in the past. When I am anxious, remind me of what you can do in the future. Be glorified in my life in the name of Jesus.

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
 Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
