The promise of Scripture is that if we will draw near to God, he will draw near to us. James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. The presence of God is a refining fire and when we draw near to him our lives are cleansed.

The Christian life has many ups and down, and there is often a spiritual ebb and flow. The spiritual ebb and flow is not because of God, it is because of us. We often struggle with sin and selfishness and sometimes we lose sight of the importance of spiritual growth.

God is unchanging and unmovable. He is the steadfast anchor for our souls. Hebrews 4:16 Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need. Meditate on the importance of nearness to God. Ask God to help you draw closer to him than ever before.

Psalm 73:28 But it is good for me to draw near to God.
