Passion Week

A good practice for Passion Week, is to read through the passages of Scripture devotionally, as the week progresses.

Palm Sunday: The Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem- Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; John 12:12-19

Holy Monday: The Cleansing of the Temple by Jesus- Matthew 21:12-17; Mark 11:15-19; Luke 19:45-48

Holy Tuesday: Teaching including the Olivet Discourse- Matthew 21:23-26:5; Mark 11:20-13:37; Luke 20:1-21:36

Silent Wednesday: Judas betrayed Jesus and Jesus rested- Matthew 26:14-16; Mark 14:10-11; Luke 22:1-6

Maundy Thursday: The Last Supper, washing of the Disciples’ feet, and institution of the Lord’s Supper pointing to the New Covenant, Gethsemane, the arrest of Jesus and trials that followed- Matthew 26:17-30, Mark 14:12-26; Luke 22:7-39; John 13:1-17:26

Good Friday: The crucifixion and death of Jesus- Matthew 27:1-61; Mark 15:1-47; Luke 23:1-56; John 18:28-19:42

Holy Saturday: The body of Jesus was in the tomb and it was a day of watiting- Matthew 27:62-66

Resurrection Sunday: The resurrection of Jesus- Matthew 28:1-10; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-18
