God Will Carry It On To Completion

We heard a solid message from God’s Word in our church from the book of Philippians from a faithful servant in our church family. It coincided with some things God’s been reminding me of and doing in my life as of late. I shared these with our Deacon Ministry, and with friends on Facebook, and wanted to do so here also. I have been processing and meditating on these truths.

Philippians 1:6 I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

*My conversion and call are by the grace of God. God saves, gifts, and sustains by his grace. Am I living by the grace of God?

*What God is doing in me, is as important as what God is doing through me. God’s will is to conform me to the image of Jesus. Am I being conformed to the image of Jesus?

*God does not measure faithfulness and fruitfulness only by the seen, but also by the unseen, and the unseen is often greater than the seen. God is continually at work by his Spirit and his Word. Am I confident God is at work around me?

*God loves his people, his church, and the supreme testimony to this is Jesus and his life, sacrificial death, and resurrection. Am I committed to caring for people created in the image of God and redeemed by the blood of Jesus, in a way that honors God?

*God is infinitely patient and his pace is not my pace. God plays the long game, and sees the beginning from the end. Am I patient in confidently trusting in what God is doing in the long term?

*My response to God must be faith and obedience, to plant and to water, in the assignment he has given me, for his glory. Am I diligent and committed in my service to God?

As Christians we have a Great Savior, a joyful salvation, and an urgent mission to reach people who are far from God. God grants peace and confidence to his servants.

What is God doing in your life?
